Effective 1 July 2026.
1. Who we are
Fyra ("we," "us") is a study task manager and focus helper for students and parents, operated from India. By creating a Fyra account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Fyra.
2. What Fyra is — and isn't
Fyra helps students plan studying, track tasks, and reduce distractions. We work with your phone's built-in Focus Mode (iOS Shortcuts or Android Digital Wellbeing) to silence distracting apps during study sessions. Fyra does not directly block, intercept, or prevent access to other apps on your device. We're a friction-based study assistant and an honor system, not a hard parental lock. If you need real blocking, you'll need a separate native blocker.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 to create a parent account. Students under 18 can use Fyra only through a parent account, with the parent's consent. Parents are responsible for all activity under their account.
4. Accounts
Fyra has two roles: parent (legal account holder) and student. The parent provides consent for any minor on the account. You agree to give accurate signup info, keep your PIN private, and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
5. Subscription & pricing
- 14-day free trial from the date you sign up. No payment info required during the trial.
- After the trial, premium features cost the price shown in your country (₹99/month in India, $2.99/month USD elsewhere, with regional variation). The exact amount appears on your subscribe screen.
- Free forever: basic task tracking, Focus Mode setup, Skill Check. Premium: AI photo grading, all 5 Practice tools, Google Classroom auto-import, monthly parent reports, multi-kid accounts.
- Subscriptions auto-renew monthly until you cancel them in Settings → Subscription. Cancellation stops future charges; we don't refund past billing periods.
- If we change prices, we'll notify you at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the change means you accept the new price.
6. Payment
Payments are processed by Razorpay (India) or by Apple App Store / Google Play in-app purchases on iOS and Android. Your card details are handled by these processors, never by Fyra. Their own terms also apply to the payment itself.
7. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to: (a) reverse-engineer, decompile, or try to bypass Fyra's intended behaviour; (b) use Fyra to harm, harass, or stalk anyone; (c) share your account or PIN with people outside your household; (d) use Fyra in violation of any law; (e) try to gain unauthorised access to Fyra's servers or other users' data; (f) automate, scrape, or stress-test Fyra; (g) use Fyra to cheat on schoolwork in ways that violate your school's academic-integrity policy.
8. AI features
Fyra uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power photo grading, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, podcast scripts, video scripts, and Skill Check assessments. Photos and text you submit are sent to Anthropic via our Cloudflare Worker for processing. AI output may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate. Treat it as a study aid, not as authoritative. We're not responsible for AI errors that affect grades or schoolwork outcomes — always double-check important answers yourself.
9. Intellectual property
The Fyra app, brand, logo, and code are ours. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Fyra for your own studying. You keep ownership of content YOU create (tasks, photos, notes). By using AI features, you give us permission to send your content to our AI provider strictly to generate your requested output.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Fyra is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, express or implied. We don't guarantee that Fyra will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI output will be accurate or appropriate for your school's standards. You use Fyra at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fyra and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including missed deadlines, lower grades, or lost study time — arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any direct damages won't exceed the amount you've actually paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
12. Termination
You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Delete account from Fyra server. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are being used fraudulently. On termination, you lose access to premium features; your local data on your device is unaffected unless you also use Settings → Reset Everything.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top will reflect the latest version, and significant changes will be announced inside the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be resolved by the courts of Gurgaon, Haryana — except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to use your local court instead.
15. Severability
If a court finds any part of these Terms invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
